Shareholders were previously advised that Sishen Iron Ore Company (Proprietary) Limited ("SIOC") and ArcelorMittal South Africa Limited ("AMSA") had on 22 July 2010 reached an interim pricing agreement ("the current interim agreement") in respect of the supply of iron ore to AMSA from the Sishen Mine for the period from 1 March 2010 to 31 July 2011. |

| Sishen Iron Ore Company (SIOC), a subsidiary of Kumba Iron Ore Limited (Kumba), today announced that the company was informed on 12 January 2011 by the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) that Imperial Crown Trading 289 (Pty) Ltd (ICT) had applied for a 21.4% mining right over Sishen Mine on 9 December 2010. The DMR accepted this application on 23 December 2010. |
